The BITS Pilani x Postman Boot Camp has launched a new free cohort and registrations are officially open. 

This Boot Camp will serve as a first step to dive into your web development journey. You will learn about API fundamentals, the Postman platform, and how it can be used for developing web applications, through a project where you will learn to create an AI text summarizer app using JavaScript, Node.js, the Hugging Face Interface AI API, and Postman.

About

API, or Application Programming Interface, is a software-to-software interface that enables two applications to exchange data with each other. In a world increasingly dominated by digital, APIs are an integral part of our daily lives. They are a part of almost everything we do. Each time we use an app like Facebook, send an instant message or check the weather on our phone, we’re using an API! APIs allow the line of business users and IT to leverage software and applications to increase productivity and improve the bottom line. 

Postman is an API platform for building and using APIs. It is developed and maintained by Postman Inc, a BITS Alumnus start-up turned Unicorn. The Postman platform simplifies each step of the API lifecycle and streamlines collaboration so you can create better APIs—faster. Postman provides:

• Tools to develop, test, document, and share APIs

• Workspaces that help us organize our API work and collaborate across our organization or across the world

• Integration of APIs with commonly used software development tools

BITS Pilani Postman API and Coding Innovation Lab, has been set up in collaboration with Postman Inc., with the aim to promote API Literacy and API-First Principles amongst BITS students.
